Disputes - solicitors' displinary tribunal - dissolution
Howard Rutter recently acted on behalf of the innocent partner of a two partner practice of solicitors. Our client’s former partner was suspended by the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal for breach of regulatory conditions. This resulted in an automatic dissolution of the practice and the taking of an account. The parties were unable to agree the account, the matter proceeded to the High Court, settling two weeks before trial. The case was extremely contentious and involved all aspects of solicitors’ accounts.
