Lupton Fawcett LLP is opening its offices to advise all would be purchasers of apartments in the Lumiere buildings of their potential rights against the developers.
Lumiere was the proposed scheme for 952 apartments in two towers up to 55 storeys high that would have been Western Europe’s tallest residential development.
The development was a joint venture between KW Linfoot plc and Frasers Property. Due to the recession, construction was put on hold in July 2008. KW Linfoot Plc went into liquidation in June 2009.
James Naylor, a Senior Associate in the firm’s Property Litigation department, comments: “As it is unlikely or, at best, uncertain that the Lumiere buildings will ever be completed and with hundreds of purchasers having already paid deposits to secure the purchase of apartments, we will advise them of the legal options open to them and also the possibility of maintaining a class action against the developers".
The meeting is being broadcast over the Internet. Any purchasers interested in attending the meeting in person or via the Internet, should contact James Naylor, Senior Associate, Property Litigation on ++44 (0) 113 280 2070; fax: ++44 (0) 113 280 2230; mobile: ++44 (0) 7971 520 406). The meeting will be held at Lupton Fawcett LLP, Yorkshire House, East Parade, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 5BD on 29th July at 6pm.
