Duncan Milwain Shortlisted for Outstanding Award
Duncan Milwain, expert in trusts, wills and estate and charities and social enterprises at Lupton Fawcett, is proud to announce that Duncan Milwain, Director in our Trust, Wills and Estates Department has been shortlisted for a Private Client Award at the prestigious Yorkshire Lawyer Awards to be held at Saviles Hall on 3rd October.
Duncan joined Lupton Fawcett in 2004 to head its Trusts, Wills and Estates Department and became a Director in 2008. Duncan is a specialist in Wills, trusts and estate planning for families and charity law and advises on estate planning involving IHT and CGT, domicile and residence, Wills and probate and on settlements. Duncan has particular expertise in the charities and social enterprises arena, with a particular focus on independent schools.
Open to lawyers within the Yorkshire region, candidates had to show demonstrable achievement in their practice area, their dedication to clients, their significant impact to clients and the appreciation/recognition of the work they have done.
Duncan's nomination came from a client who was extremely grateful for the work Duncan had done. "Duncan's kindness, support, tenacity and total professionalism kept my family strong during a horrendously difficult time" and it was this praise for his help and guidance that led his client to nominate Duncan for this award (and without Duncan's knowledge).
Duncan Milwain commented: "I was flattered to be nominated and, if honest, I had not anticipated being shortlisted. We are often required to advise clients who are in difficult circumstances and constantly strive to be professional, pragmatic and empathetic when dealing with them. The nomination recognises the team's striving to achieve this."
