Seminar offers advice for employers on handling bullying and harassment in the workplace

May 27, 2010

Commercial law firm Lupton Fawcett, which has offices in Leeds and Sheffield, is holding a seminar at the Holiday Inn, Brighouse on Thursday 24 June to provide local business owners and managers with advice on handling bullying and harassment in the workplace.

Louse Connacher, head of Lupton Fawcett’s Employment Division, will explain the discrimination legislation that underpins bullying and harassment claims, in particular the changes to be introduced in October 2010 by the new Equality Act, and explain how to reduce the risk of such claims arising.

Guest speaker Helen Roberts, a director and principal consultant at training consultancy CMS Consultancy, will talk about the effects of bullying and harassment in the workplace, what to watch out for, the mistakes managers typically tend to make in dealing with claims and how to tackle harassment and bullying behaviour head on.

The seminar, which runs from 2.00pm to 3.45pm, costs £20 + vat per person. Tea and coffee will be available from 1.30pm and afternoon tea will be served after the seminar.
