Buying and Selling a Property

We work with both corporate clients and private individuals who are interested in buying and selling commercial property or indeed a portfolio of commercial properties anywhere in England or Wales.

Whilst the three main types of commercial property that we deal with on a daily basis are likely to be in the office, retail or industrial sectors (representing approximately 88% of the commercial property market), we also advise clients in relation to properties used for leisure (pubs and hotels) and the provision of utilities and healthcare (for example nursing homes).

Our clients may be property investors, developers or owner/occupiers who need the land and buildings from which to conduct their business. The scope of our work will vary from one transaction to another, but we are happy to advise our clients in relation to the heads of terms for the transaction, investigating (if buying) or deducing (if selling) title to the property, dealing with pre-contract enquiries and carrying out searches in relation to the property.

We also advise on drafting and negotiating the agreement for sale together with the property transfer and any ancillary documentation, proceeding to completion and finally post-completion matters such as advising you in relation to stamp duty land tax and Land Registry requirements.
