The Corporate team acts for many leading businesses and individuals in the Yorkshire region and they now seek a solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE gained in Corporate Finance. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding and successful team, where you can shape your own future.
The role will include the drafting and negotiation of a range of corporate and commercial agreements, which will include share and asset purchase agreements, shareholders agreements (including joint venture and investment agreements), articles of association and partnership/LLP constitutions, merger/demerger agreements, loan documentation and share options.
Some of your duties will include the preparation and summarising of legal documents as well as drafting and negotiating transactions. The workload will be varied therefore it would be advantageous if you have experience of being able to manage large volumes of work.
We would expect you to be able to demonstrate a committed and commercial approach to your work in addition to having excellent technical skills and a solid grounding in corporate and commercial law. A good knowledge of business and finance issues would also be expected. Overall you should be motivated, flexible, enthusiastic and be keen to assist with complex legal and regulatory issues.
We encourage our fee earners to work as part of a team and you should also be keen to assist in the growth of both the department and the firm and get involved in a range of marketing and business development initiatives. You should have the ability to develop relationships therefore it would be an advantage if you have experience of identifying and developing marketing opportunities. A bit of personality and a good sense of humour go a long way!
You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior partners as well as being in regular contact with colleagues from other areas within the firm, and accordingly, you should have the confidence and ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both in writing and verbally.
The department is relaxed and informal, but extremely professional. We put clients’ needs first, so you will need to have the ability to prioritise your workload and be able to work to and meet deadlines, whilst having an excellent eye for detail and a concern for quality and accuracy.
