About Jonathan

Jonathan is a Partner and Head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department and its Property Dispute sub-team. He has a Masters Degree in Law and advises on: commercial disputes (including share and asset sale agreements, loans and security, commercial fraud and associated freezing and search injunctions, ADR and financial services); company and insolvency law (including contractual disputes, shareholders’ disputes, directors’ duties, directors’ disqualification and corporate insolvency/rescue); and professional negligence work (mainly accountants, barristers, solicitors, surveyors and related fields).

Jonathan also advises on trusts and property (including boundary disputes, dilapidations, partnership disputes, probate disputes, property disputes and equitable remedies), and has particular expertise in the construction, manufacturing, retail, charity and not-for-profit sectors acting for associations, institutions, limited companies, PLCs, landed estates and high net worth individuals.

He has contributed to articles in The Guardian, The Law Society Gazette, trade journals, has appeared on local radio, and is listed as a leader in his field by legal directories.

When not at work

Jonathan is married with three children, lives in North Yorkshire and enjoys property renovation. He is a Trustee of both New Lights (North of England), a charity which promotes art in the North of England, and Ripon Community Link, a charity which supports people with disabilities.
