About Katie

Katie joined Lupton Fawcett LLP in July 2018 and is a member of the Charities and Social Enterprise team. Her work includes advising charities and third sector organisations in respect of a range of issues including:

  • compliance with charity regulatory requirements;
  • advising on charity trustee and director duties;
  • advising on and attending to incorporations and mergers involving trusts, CIOs and companies limited by guarantee;
  • advising on structural change; amending governing documents; governance reviews; providing trustee training; obtaining orders schemes and consents from the Charity Commission;
  • establishing new charities; drafting charity constitutions and supporting policy documents.

Katie has presented at a number of seminars including at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), The Yorkshire Charities Seminar and to Independent Schools.

Katie is a member of the Charity Law Association.

When not at work

Katie has taken a keen interest in the education sector having been an active member of the board of governors of a local school for 8 years.

Keeping fit and art are her other passions. She runs regularly and takes part in, among other things, The Great North Run, whilst in whatever time she can carve out for herself, she can be found in her art studio creating works of art, being a commissioned oil painter.
