About us

Lupton Fawcett LLP is a well-established law firm with offices in Leeds, Sheffield and York.

We seek an experienced Employment Solicitor to join our multi award winning Employment Team, preferably in Sheffield but we are open to receiving applications for our other offices based in Leeds and York.

The successful candidate must have excellent technical ability and experience of dealing with a broad range of work. We anticipate you will have circa 2- 12 years PQE.

Our Employment Team is recognised as being one of the strongest in the region. We believe we are also one of the most collegiate. The successful candidate will provide a high quality legal service to a wide range of corporate and individual clients.

Key responsibilities

You will be required to do the following:-

Advise and represent businesses and individual clients on a whole range of employment law matters, including employment contracts; performance and absence management; disciplinary and grievance procedures and all aspects of discrimination;

Protect businesses and their key personnel against the potential claims whether financial, reputational or personal;

Manage the defence at employment tribunal in order to obtain the best possible outcome for individual clients and businesses, up to and including appeal;

Approach cases in a highly commercial manner ensuring business continuity at the forefront of any advice provided;

Defend corporate and individual clients against a wide range of allegations including discrimination and harassment;

Managing and restructuring redundancies and executive severance;

Undertaking corporate support work.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing a full and varied caseload to cover the full range of contentious and non-contentious Employment matters to both corporate and individual clients, whilst being excited at having the opportunity to join a very strong and close knit team.

The department is relaxed, supportive and informal, but extremely professional. We put clients’ needs first, so you will need to have the ability to prioritise your workload, and be able to work to deadlines. We are focussed on providing the highest of quality and customer service, and providing commercial advice.
