About us
Lupton Fawcett LLP is a well-established integrated corporate and commercial law firm with offices in Leeds, Sheffield and York. It enjoys an enviable reputation in a number of areas including IP and Commercial work, and has one of the most experienced and active IP and Commercial teams in the region.
Rapid growth has created an opportunity for a Senior Associate Solicitor to join the team in Leeds. Being an 8+ years qualified solicitor should have given you exposure and hands on experience of handling a busy IP and commercial caseload.
About the job
The role will involve advising and representing businesses, not for profit organisations and individuals on the whole range of non-contentious and contentious intellectual property matters. The role will involve advising on a non-contentious basis in relation to the creation, maintenance, protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights including patents, copyright, trademarks, registered designs, design rights and database rights. It will also include advising on commercial agreements and areas of law allied to intellectual property and commercial law such as data protection. The role will be varied, and therefore you should be able to demonstrate a committed and commercial approach to your work.
You will be quickly responsible in assisting with leadership and supervision in the Leeds team and furthering the development of less experienced colleagues. Working closely with the Head of the Department we would look to you growing and developing the team in your own image and there is no ceiling to achieving ambition.
You should have the confidence and ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both in writing and verbally as you will be in regular contact with clients and colleagues within the department.
Experience and Skills:
The successful candidate should be ambitious, enthusiastic and team-focused and in return we offer an excellent opportunity to join an expanding and successful team, where you can shape your own future.
The department is relaxed and informal, but extremely professional. We put clients’ needs first, so you will need to have the ability to prioritise your workload and be able to work to and meet deadlines, whilst having an excellent eye for detail and a concern for quality and accuracy. You should have the ability to develop relationships, and therefore it would be an advantage if you have experience of identifying and developing marketing opportunities. A bit of personality and a good sense of humour go a long way!
