Dispute over a Member Leaving a Professional Practice
We were instructed by a professional practice regarding one of the LLP members leaving.
There was a potential dispute about clients being moved away from the practice and the departing member setting up in competition. There were also disagreement around the balances due to the out-going partner and the timing of the payments to him.
Whilst such matters can easily become contentious and spin out of control, we were able to advise in such a manner that an agreement was reached.
This enabled the LLP and the outgoing partner to move forward, perhaps not with everything they wanted, but with a workable agreement.
