British Champion at Lupton Fawcett

Lupton Fawcett, the Leeds, Sheffield and York-based commercial law firm, would like to congratulate Employment Senior Legal Secretary, Dawn Bray, in her fantastic achievement in being part of the Yorkshire Ladies Crown Green Bowling team who won the British Crown Green Bowling Association Championship title on 17 September 2017 against North Midlands.

Dawn, who has 59 caps for the Yorkshire Ladies, started playing back in 1986 and was so hooked on the game, she dedicated much of her spare time to practicing her technique. Dawn comments:  "I have been playing bowls for 31 years at Ossett Flying Horse BC, and made my first appearance for Yorkshire in 2002.  Winning the British Championship title is the top prize for any county team.  During that time, my game has developed significantly.  I compete in three local leagues during the week, have represented the West Riding District in the Inter District Championships, and also play in competitions on a weekend (both ladies and open) not only in Yorkshire but throughout the country (and even across to the Isle of Man!).

Dawn adds this title to her own individual title of Yorkshire Ladies Champion which she won in 2014.

Andrew Gilchrist, Director and Head of the award-winning Employment law team, comments:  “We congratulate Dawn immensely for her dedication and achievement.  We have supported Dawn along the way during her 23 years of working at Lupton Fawcett and it is testament to her commitment that she has achieved her ambition.”
