Fab-u-lous performance from Sarah as she raises £850 for St Leonard’s Hospice

Sarah, who works in the family law department in York, took up the dance challenge having read an article in the York Press asking for couples to put on their dancing shoes to raise money for a good cause.

Coached by Chris Robinson, the British amateur Latin sequence dance champion, Sarah and her partner Mark had just six weeks to perfect their moves.

Following plenty of practice, the two of them really enjoyed the experience.

“Having been inspired by Strictly Come Dancing, we decided to accept the challenge and give it a go,” she said.

“We really enjoyed learning all the dance steps under Chris’s expert tuition and we are looking forward to showing them off on the dancefloor in the future.

“The night was a huge success and the atmosphere was brilliant. As well as having lots of fun, we were delighted to raise £850 for such a good cause and we would like to thank all our friends and colleagues for supporting us.”

Jonathan Oxley, managing partner of Lupton Fawcett, added,

“As a company we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously and encourage our team to become involved with worthwhile causes. We are really proud, therefore, that Sarah and Mark have sprung into action and raised such a significant amount for the hospice.”

In total, the event raised £21,000, from all the participants, for St Leonard’s Hospice.
