Nicki Mitchell

Senior Associate Solicitor

Nicki has practiced family law for over twenty years.  She specialises in the financial aspects of relationship breakdown, particularly complex cases involving family businesses, multiple properties and complicated pension arrangements.  She also puts these skills to good use in drafting and advising on nuptial and cohabitation agreements designed to avoid expensive litigation when relationships end.

Nicki believes very strongly in the importance of identifying the right way for each individual client to get where they need to be.  She practices mediation and collaborative family law as well as the more traditional methods of dispute resolution and so is ideally placed to guide and support clients through one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Nicki has a strong reputation for being tough but fair and works very hard with her clients to identify and achieve what they need. She is rated in Chambers, a national legal directory.

Nicki is Vice Chair of the South Bank Multi Academy Trust in York and former Trustee of the York Citizens Advice Bureau.

What Others Say

Nicki was incredibly professional at all times, always available at the end of a telephone or via email to answer any queries or concerns, no matter how small. She worked incredibly hard for me to finalise matters as swiftly as possible, always with my best interests in the forefront. Nicki was able to deal with a very complex mixture of family matters for me, where other solicitors had failed to help. Nicki used her time efficiently and her fees reflected this. I am very grateful to Nicki for giving me the very best help and advice. - Mrs M

I would just like to share with you how grateful I am for the excellent result in my divorce case. I came to you distressed from my original solicitor and you kindly took over my case for me with a fantastic result. I found you helpful and compassionate. I will never forget what you did for me. - Mrs L

Nicki's first degree and early professional life was in modern languages. She continues to take opportunities where they arise to read and converse in Spanish, in which she is fluent.
