This informative and practical training session has been created to provide employee representatives with a solid understanding of their role so that they understand the context of in which they are operating and how to fulfil the role so as to ensure an effective process.

Module aims

This module aims to provide participants with:

  • the knowledge and understanding needed to deal with a range of issues including:
    • the role of an employee representative;
    • understanding a typical consultation/change management document;
    • the differences between information, consultation and negotiation;
    • dealing with a typical collective redundancy/reorganisation/change in terms and conditions scenario;
    • understanding and responding to different stakeholders, constituency employees and management.

Learning outcomes 

By the end of this module, participants will:

  • understand the context in which they may be required to operate and the different types of consultative processes;
  • have an appreciation of the expectations of both those they represent and of management’s role;
  • know the difference between negotiation, consultation and information giving processes;
  • understand a collective redundancy/reorganisation process;
  • know how to gather feedback and relay this effectively to relevant stakeholders to maximize the prospects of a smooth consultation process;

The Cost

Our standard charge is £250 plus VAT per delegate for a full day course, if it is being held at our premises or a venue close to our offices.  In addition, we do offer three for the price of two rates.

For a half-day course, our fees are £150 plus VAT per delegate.

Should you require the course to be held in-house at your premises, then the fee would be £2,000 plus VAT for up to 12 attendees.  Should your premises fall outside of a 50-mile radius from any of our Yorkshire offices,  then the fee would be £2500 plus VAT plus travel, travel time and hotel costs.

For a half-day course, our fee would be £1250 or £1500 plus travel and travel time costs.
