Tom has over 20 years of employment law experience acting for a wide range of clients on all aspects of employment law. In addition to advice on “day to day” matters such as disciplinaries and grievances, management of absenteeism, performance management and settlement agreements he also regularly advises on major strategic projects including restructuring of the workforce, collective consultation, changes to terms and conditions, TUPE and complex discrimination and whistleblowing issues.
Whilst he acts for clients across all sectors he has particular expertise in the independent school sector.
Tom is a skilled advocate and regularly appears in the Employment Tribunals.
Tom enjoys spending time with his family, hill walking, (slowly ticking off the Munros), and cycling. When time and body allows it, he also occasionally completes triathlons and has misplaced aspirations to one day complete an Ironman.
Tom is also a Trustee of Emmaus Hull and East Riding, (a charity supporting people out of homelessness)
