Meghan Waldron, leading Yorkshire regulatory lawyer, shortlisted for Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Award

The awards are organised by the Legal 500 guide and recognise those outstanding lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments ‘setting the pace’ in the region and celebrating their achievements over the last 18 months.

Meghan has been named as a ‘Rising Star’ in the Legal 500 Crime: Yorkshire and Humber for two years running and is very proud to be shortlisted as a finalist for ‘Rising Star of the Year’. The six nominees for this ‘best of the best’ award are chosen from all of the ‘Rising Stars’ named within the Legal 500 (Crime) category throughout the North.

Meghan joined Lupton Fawcett in 2016 and has over 12 years’ experience in regulatory and criminal defence. Meghan deals with a wide range of criminal matters including fraud, inquests, serious sexual offences and road traffic offences. In particular, Meghan has built particular expertise focusing on complex fraud matters and the proceeds of crime.  She works alongside the top King’s Counsel in the country to secure successful outcomes and is an accomplished lawyer and advocate.

Jeremy Scott, Partner and Head of Regulatory Corporate Defence, said: “Meghan has a superb reputation in the Regulatory Crime legal community, so her shortlisting for this prestigious award is not only very well deserved, but also a great recognition of her skills and expertise.”

“Meghan’s aim is to avoid cases progressing where possible and clients can expect the very best representation with no stone left unturned. This is reflected in the consistently high number of cases where no further action is taken by the police, cases are discontinued by the prosecution or acquittals are achieved in court. Her reputation continues to grow with each success.”

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in Manchester on 2 March 2023.
