Louise is often asked to advise bishops of other Dioceses on clergy discipline matters when their Registrars are unable to do so.
In her role as Provincial Registrar, Louise attends meetings of the General Synod, and sits on the Clergy Discipline Commission, the Fees Advisory Commission and the Legal Advisory Commission. She is also Registrar of Tribunals for the Northern Province.
As a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society, Louise is interested in, and committed to, the development of ecclesiastical law. She has contributed to working parties considering the reform of the Clergy Discipline Measure led by the Ecclesiastical Law Society and the Bishop at Lambeth.
Louise frequently delivers training in ecclesiastical law matters on behalf of the Ecclesiastical Law Society. She is also a committee member of the Ecclesiastical Law Association.
“I am proud to support the mission of the clergy and other officers of the Church of England by guiding them through the complications of ecclesiastical law. I aim to be responsive and available, and to provide my advice in a clear and straightforward way.”

“I have worked with Louise for over 15+ years in my various HR director roles at Rotherham TEC, Vocalink and now Costcutter. She gives commercial and pragmatic advice on complex issues, responds swiftly, and above all works in partnership with me and the rest of the team.”
Wendy Taylor Human Resources Director Costcutter
“When Louise says she will get back to you she does – every time. Whether you are an employer or an employee (or even from the media and seeking some expert opinion) I would not hesitate to recommend Louise.”
David Ross Managing Director Valeos Ltd
“Louise is a professional of the highest calibre whose knowledge of employment law is second to none. There are of course many lawyers out there who also have a good level of knowledge in the same subject. However what always impresses me about Louise is how she applies her expertise. She links her main speciality – employment law – to her substantial commercial knowledge and awareness. This is then married to some very astute tactical thinking, resulting in superb results for her clients. Louise’s service delivery is also highly impressive.”

“Clients note that she’s very knowledgeable, down-to-earth, personable and happy to answer questions.”

“Louise is incredibly knowledgeable and commercially focused in the advice she gives and service she provides. She takes time to understand her client’s actual needs and that is what makes her stand out from other employment lawyers I have worked with; she gives honest practical advice and not text book answers. I can read the books myself and have an understanding of employment law as a HR professional, what Louise brings is a wider appreciation and execution of the law in an easy to follow manner and in her personable style. I would have no hesitation in recommending her services.”
