Louise handholds clients through a whole spectrum of employment law issues, from recruitment right through to termination. These can include discrimination, contractual issues, disciplinary procedures and family friendly rights. She has particular expertise in restrictive covenants, employer's immigration issues, director/employee/shareholder disputes and TUPE. Most of Louise's clients are employers, but she does also advise and support senior executives negotiating their exit from an organisation. She is a member of the firm's Charities and Social Enterprise Group and acts for a number of clients in the education sector. Her clients include Leeds City College, Jacuzzi, Bradford Grammar School, the Higher Education Academy, Vocalink and Costcutter.
Louise also speaks regularly at seminars, both at the firm's events and as a guest speaker for external organisations including CIPD. Her seminars are practical and jargon-free and she is consistently rated as "excellent" by delegates. She has appeared in the local press and on BBC Radio and TV as an employment law expert, and is consistently listed as a key individual in her field in the Chambers & Partners UK and The Legal 500 UK directories.

What Others Say
I have had the pleasure of working with Louise Connacher as my primary employment law advisor for over seven years, both in my role as Regional HR Director for Johnston Press, inclusive of Yorkshire Post Newspapers, and in my capacity as an independent HR Consultant within such businesses as Seabrook Crisps and KD Engineering Ltd.
Louise is incredibly knowledgeable and commercially focused in the advice she gives and service she provides. She takes time to understand her client's actual needs and that is what makes her stand out from other employment lawyers I have worked with; she gives honest practical advice and not text book answers. I can read the books myself and have an understanding of employment law as a HR professional, what Louise brings is a wider appreciation and execution of the law in an easy to follow manner and in her personable style. I would have no hesitation in recommending her services. - Catriona Macdonald, Human Resources, Threedom Solutions Limited
Clients note that "She's very knowledgeable, down-to-earth, personable and happy to answer questions." - Chambers & Partners UK 2016
Louise is a professional of the highest calibre whose knowledge of employment law is second to none. There are of course many lawyers out there who also have a good level of knowledge in the same subject. However what always impresses me about Louise is how she applies her expertise. She links her main speciality - employment law - to her substantial commercial knowledge and awareness. This is then married to some very astute tactical thinking, resulting in superb results for her clients. Louise's service delivery is also highly impressive. When Louise says she will get back to you she does - every time. Whether you are an employer or an employee (or even from the media and seeking some expert opinion) I would not hesitate to recommend Louise. - David Ross, Managing Director, Valeos Ltd
I have worked with Louise for over 15? years in my various HR director roles at Rotherham TEC, Vocalink and now Costcutter. She gives commercial and pragmatic advice on complex issues, responds swiftly, and above all works in partnership with me and the rest of the team. - Wendy Taylor, Human Resources Director, Costcutter

When not at work
Louise's perfect day out would be to indulge in her unusual hobby of church bell ringing during the morning, before walking to a country pub where she would then quench her thirst with some Yorkshire-brewed real ale. Her greatest achievement outside of work has been leading a £63,000 project to restore the 18th-century bells of her local church to full working order with the help of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant. She is also a Kindle addict and loves to curl up with a good e-book.
