Partner in employment

Having worked in the financial services sector for 10 years prior to changing career to become a solicitor, Andrew has the ability to instinctively look at problems from a client’s (as well as a lawyer’s) perspective.  As a result, he has a very rounded, pragmatic and commercial business approach; which clients value.

Many of Andrew’s clients find his abilities as a robust litigator and a creative and sophisticated negotiator invaluable. He has built a reputation for advising on strategic and sensitive issues, and in particular for resolving problems. He has been the lead employment adviser to a number of household names in the construction, DIY, property and manufacturing sectors. These include Northgate PLC, Tarmac, Comet, MFI, Magnet and ArcelorMittal.

Having been shortlisted for Partner of the Year at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2019, Andrew was named HR and Employment Law Lawyer of the Year at the Legal Monthly annual awards 2020, and Employment Lawyer of the Year at the Finance Monthly annual awards 2021. This follows the success of the Employment Team, which was named Employment Team of the Year at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2018, and UK Regional HR / Employment Team of the Year 2017.  Andy is named as a recommended lawyer by both Legal 500 and Chambers.
