Charity golf day raises £4,000 for Candlelighters

Lupton Fawcett’s recent golf day raised £4,000 for regional charity Candlelighters, which supports families in Yorkshire who are affected by childhood cancer

The day took place at Headingley Golf Club and included a chipping and putting masterclass by PGA professionals from Grooves Golf.

18 teams from the local corporate and commercial business community took part and teams skippered by a number of Lupton Fawcett partners also played in the event. The winning team was Armstrong Watson.

Giles Clegg, Lupton Fawcett partner and head of corporate finance, said: “We were delighted to host this fantastic day and to support such a worthwhile charity.

“To able to host such a superb event for so many longstanding contacts, friends and clients of Lupton Fawcett after the lengthy lockdown that we have all had to endure was great, and reaffirms that Lupton Fawcett is very much open for business.”

Chris Salt, partnerships manager at Candlelighters, said: “We are very grateful to Lupton Fawcett and all those who took part in the golf day for their support and fantastic fundraising. They have raised a superb amount which will make a huge difference to families facing such difficult circumstances.

“It’s thanks to fundraising efforts like these that we’re able to provide emotional, practical, and financial support to families, as well as invest in vital research to improve the lives and outcomes of children and young people with cancer.”
